Infographics

2022–2026

The Challenge

Transform complex research findings, survey results, and institutional data into clear, engaging visual communications for diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, students, and university leadership. Each project required balancing accuracy with accessibility while presenting information in a way that encouraged understanding and engagement.

The Goal

Design information-rich graphics that simplified complex data without sacrificing accuracy. Each infographic needed to communicate key insights through clear visual hierarchy, thoughtful data visualization, and consistent branding, making research findings more approachable and actionable.

The Solution

I designed a series of infographics that translated research findings and survey results into engaging visual stories. By combining thoughtful layout, typography, icons, colour, and data visualization, I created communications that highlighted key insights while making complex information easier to interpret. The projects supported a range of initiatives, including learning space design, co-operative education participation, and institutional surveys, with each infographic tailored to its intended audience and communication goals.

Reflection

What worked

Organizing large amounts of information into structured visual narratives made research findings more engaging and accessible. Designing each infographic around a clear communication objective helped audiences quickly identify key insights while maintaining consistency with SFU's brand.

Challenges

Every project presented different types of data and varying levels of complexity. The challenge was determining what information to prioritize and selecting the most effective visualizations without oversimplifying the findings or overwhelming the audience.

If this were expanded further

I would collaborate earlier with researchers and stakeholders to identify the most important stories within the data before beginning the design process. I would also explore interactive and digital-first formats that allow users to engage with the information in greater depth while preserving clarity and accessibility.
